below is a sketch of the first outfit along with pictures of the material and some of the things I’ve started and/or finished

Ok so I have been putting a LOT of time into my 4388. After looking everywhere (from street fashion, to magazines, to different art works) and tons of sketching, I have choosen a theme for my designs and purchased lots of fabric/ a lady I model for gave me some cool vintage fabrics to work with as well!!:-)! I have decided that my three outfits will represent different aspects of my life at this point (scared to become apart of the “Real World”, my love for fashion and art, and my peronality). The first outfit/photo series I do will be based on my childish side (big hair bow, tights, just really girly)<– Im thinking this will represent the fact that at this point in my life I am really scared of life after graduation and just want to go back to the days of being a little girl with no stress in my life. The second outfit will be a little more structured and more edgy it will be more artistic <—Art is a big part of my life right now and I would like to convey different things Ive learned about in art through this outfit (texture/shape/color/etc). The third outfit will be a little more “bedazzled” I want it to show my personality <— I think this one will be the one I put the exaggerated hoodie on w/ hand sewn beads and whatnot on the inside….I want it to represent my personality (I can be pretty quiet but once you get to know me/ when I feel comfortable I like to be the center of attention) The hood will represent the reserved aspect of me and the inside will be the more “in your face” side of my personality. I hope you like my ideas b/c I’ve already begun the sewing process

Since its a snow day I decided to sketch out some ideas and go thru my materials to get some ideas on what my outfits will look like

So I’ve slept on and started my sketching process. For my 4388 I will be combining what I’ve learned in both my sewing and art classes. I am going to make 3 avant garde outfits and then when I finished I want to photograph them in an artistic way. Next time I will make sure to scan in some sketches of ideas I have for the outfits. I am REEAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYYY excited about this project!
